Brian and Valerie Hawkins of Forest Grove, Oregon and Ellen Moore and Dennis Young of Prescott Valley, Arizona are pleased to announce the engagement of their children, Heather Hawkins and Ben Young.
The bride-to-be graduated from Forest Grove High School in 2001 and received her Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Media in 2005 from Pacific University, Forest Grove, Oregon. She is a web developer for Oregon Public Broadcasting, Portland, Oregon and runs her own web & multimedia design company, Giant Chair Design.
The groom-to-be graduated from Bradshaw Mountain High School in 2001, Prescott Valley, Arizona and received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Pacific University in 2006. He is a software developer for Tiburon, Lake Oswego, Oregon.
The couple was engaged on a rainy evening in March in "Cricket Land" (a small garden at Pacific University, thus dubbed by Ben and Heather because it's filled with the sound of crickets in the evening). Ben knelt in a puddle. The couple will reside in Forest Grove, Oregon for the time being.
