Giant Chair Design...
was established in the spring of 2005 by Heather Young (then Heather Hawkins), who, upon graduation from Pacific University, decided she wanted to start her own company.

Actually, the plan had been in the works for a while. It was a matter of settling on a name: it started out "Hooahh! Design," then there was "Oofda Creations." "Ruby Slipper" was in the mix for a while, but that seemed too obsessed with the Wizard of Oz. Finally, while spinning in her chair, on the verge of dizzy disorientation, it came: Giant Chair Design, because behind greatness, genius and creativity, there's always a giant chair.
